Rock Your Phone has released a new app called MyWi. MyWi allows you to turn your iPhone 3G into a WiFi Hotspot that you can connect multiple devices to. MyWi can connect your laptop to the internet through WiFi, bluetooth, or directly through USB. The app only works with the iPhone 3G at the moment, but they are working on adding the iPhone 3G[s] to the supported devices.  UPDATE: It seems that if you install RockYourPhone from Cydia instead of the desktop application, it works with the iPhone 3G[s].

Google has been competing with Microsoft on a number of products, but with their release of Google Chrome web browser they must have hit home with Microsoft. Since the Chrome browser release, Microsoft launched Bing.com which directly competes with Google’s core search business. Now, Google is firing back with Google Chrome OS; this has the makings of a great rivalry.

The first screenshot of a jailbroken iPhone 3G[s] using Winterboard to theme the UI has surfaced on Twitter.  A tweet from p0sixninja, member of the iPhone Dev-Team, shows a fully themed iPhone 3G[s] complete with custom icons, background, and dock.

I’m looking for in depth guide explaining how to hack the palm pre, ssh the palm pre, jailbreak the palm pre, or tether the palm pre in a way a non-hacker/computer wiz could understand.

Today on this 4th day of July we in the US celebrate our Independence Day.  This is a great time to get outdoors and spend time with family and friends.  What better way to get everyone together than breaking out the grill and having a BBQ.

Get outside and away from your computer, but that doesn’t mean you have to totally disconnect from from technology, as long as you have your trusty iPhone.

This is a serious outage impacting both consumers and venders alike.  Authorize.net is used by hundreds of thousands of e-commerce business to process their online credit card and electronic check payments; this means that millions of transactions cannot be proccesed during this down time.

It’s unclear when the downtime started exactly, but the consensus is somewhere between 5 and 7 hours at this point (11 AM Eastern), with e-commerce vendors desperately looking for ways to contact the company or get any first-hand information about what’s going on and when the problems will be resolved. Twitter, meanwhile, is buzzing with the news as the United States wakes up.

It has been confirmed that the Ultrasn0w unlock app for the iPhone 3G does in fact work for the iPhone 3G[s] as well.  You do need to jailbreak first with Geohot’s Purplera1n solution.

Purplera1n does not activate your phone so you will need a legit AT&T sim card in order to jailbreak, but then you can unlock with Ultrasn0w, availble in Cydia, then slip in your T-Mobile sim.
