Dave I have to agree with you about the tablets. That said I could be totally wrong, I have an iphone and a MBP and I dont see the point in the half way house device either. The tablet is to big for my pocket and doesnt have a full keyboard. We shall see I suppose. I would be really funny if Apple said we thought about releasing a tablet but realised it was a shit idea with little use.

I think everyone is making tablets is because of the success with a touch based smartphone. Be it iPhone or htc’s Touch pro or htc’s diamond or Htc’s hd 2….etc
how can you b sure the dell, lenovo, hp, microsoft and others are copeying apple with their tablet? You are a apple fanboy and for that reason you see apple as better than any other company. But You cannot be right in saying that everyone is trying to copy apple. I do not agree with u in that.

As for the Nexus One… Everytime we see an iPhone killer arise they fade out quickly… Apple has succeded becasue of things like the app/itunes store that allow people that instant link with what they want. Any variant on the Itunes store that apears on the market does not ever work as well and can not offer the range that Apple have built up over many years…
IMO – The suddent popularity with releasing Tables is only so these companies can get that slice of the pie when someone can not afford the Apple Tablet… I do not get the facination either… I would just prefer a notebook.
i was just talking t my friends about making laptops with a touch base keyboard 2 day ago. intersting how you brought that up in the video. the apple tablet remonds me of the tv show reboot i used to watch as a kid
I think there is a market for touchsreen laptops, but only for laptops with keyboard where the screen can be put on top of the keyboard. In that way you have a small device for light computertasks like email and internet. You can do it comforatably on the sofa. Then for more serious work you can flip out the keyboard and do more serious typing. Touching the screen has the advantage that you can work everywhere without the mouse.

i still dont completly understand the concept of tablets. by my understanding, its a touch laptop. Im kinda uneasy about it. I don’t want them to replace laptops because i love laptops, but i guess there always has to be something new invented.
Graphic design is the only thing that comes to mind
But my MacBook works just fine for that so from a personal point of view; I would say it’s completely useless, at least for me it is. Just a big iPhone really.. Well, without the phone part
But we’ll see, you never know what apple is gonna do with their products
