*HELLO* – So in this video I compare the brand new Google Nexus One phone with the iPhone 3GS. A detailed look at the phones and then some thoughts on the subject. This video is really to START THE DEBATE of Google vs Apple, Andorid vs iPhone OSX. NOT my typical DETAILED analysis.

i have an iPhone 3GS 32GB and i fucking love it!
ah, you said it all! “top developers/tompanies” the android developers are a huge worldwide community of people spending private time and money to make free apps. google works with the android developers, unlike apple who tries to block them wherever they go. 100k apps in 3 years is not far from 20k apps in a year and a little bit (iphone jan 07, G1 oct 08) and the android didn’t even reach its full potential! watch the popularity charts, iphone down 32%->28% android up 6%->21% from sep->dec 09!
oh no, android being unix based is brilliant ! i said it a little confusingly..android is based on unix ,so it uses linux…apple are using unix…android as u can see feels rough, because it hasnt been in development as long..unix specifically osx has been in the making FOR YEARS ! so its better, leopard on the mac was THE best because of YEARS OF WORK, u cant just be google work on android for a few years and then say its better. apples is better because of the time they spent
or google could just be creative and make some new multi touch thats original and doesnt copy apple. and as a result all google android users could have multi touch ! look at LG phones, they have a very nice os with different types of multi touch not exactly the same as apple and as a result they are not infringing on patents by apple. with the talent at google, ud think they could invest in NEW multi touch gestures/techniques. does the average user want to UNROOT and INSTALL..nope
asshole ? thanks. I know another iphone is on the way, but the purpose of the video is not apple vs google with there products, its comparing the PHONES ON MARKET RIGHT NOW, because there are ppl who dont care about whats coming out soon, not the very techy/geeky people. so right now its either a nexus or an iphone, so thats why i did the comparison.
i have SEVERAL articles that are from top developers/companies who are developing for android and at the moment, are cutting there developement for android and focusing more on the iphone, gameloft is one example, the iphone os is just more mature android is not mature enough, BUT that will change with time and android will mature and attract developers, that being said making apps on the iphone atm is making more money than on android and at the end of the day, this is business.
Just checking, I might be reading you wrong but are you saying Android being Unix-based is a bad thing? OSX is also based on Unix, and for that reason so is the iPhone’s OS. Like I said, I might be misinterpreting you.
Well, after watching this review i felt the need to say a couple of things. The first, the OS of the devices shouldn’t be compared, each with its pros and cons. but you can’t ignore the fact that android is a completely open source OS, unlike the iphone OS. Furthermore, the noise cancellation is a hardware feature (has 2 mics) and not just a software one to be ignored. And about the apps, I was shocked to hear you declare that no one works on android apps, it is dead wrong, and insulting.
@IridiumVIII – another problem coming to light is the pink hue that seems to plague pictures taken indoors with the Nexus One. It’s suspected that this might be software related and hot fixable.
The GPS is better on the Nexus One because it comes with free turn-by-turn navigation. Overall I think the iPhone software is better and the Google’s hardware is better. But this will change soon when the next iPhone come out.
Very good impartial comparison. The best i have seen. Correction android market up to 20000 apps.
LOL at the people saying iphone will be better in the future…, so is android. DRBUK is giving you a comparison of the present. Respect him and don’t swear at him.
You’re a complete asshole.
Not to mention, a new iPhone is planned for the second half of this year. A batch of 40-50 million 5 megapixel camera units have been ordered from their supplier of the current 3.2 mp camera in the 3GS. So unless the Nexus One sucks that bad.. I doubt they’ll release a second version of it within half a year. Not only that, but they wouldn’t do a hardware upgrade.. most likely software as it seems it’s already doing good in the hardware side.
get a nexus one, unroot it and install the iphone skin on it. looks and operates just like a iphone but does everything a iphone and htc phone does. im just waiting for the next nexus phone with a physical keyboard, then im bought.
ppl will always say iphone is better bc of how simple it is. htc phones are simple too. but smarter there for theres just alot more to learn about it. but once u learn wat it can do… any iphone user with common sense can obviously why htc phones are just that much better.
the multitouch wasnt released bc google is afraid of ne lawsuit from apple regarding that issue, so they leave it to the open source community to teach people how to get multitask on top of many many many more features… navigation…tethering via usb or wifi or 3g or 2g… multi taskin? iphone will not allow multitasking, it can’t, itll take away its entire performance that its been known for. thats why its soo much smoother than any htc phone. bc its simple graphics that doesnt multitask
lol i agree with a lot of what you said, EXCEPT the ANDROID ON THE IPHONE OS lol noooooo way ! android is a linux based on UNIX, so tbh the iphone os is better, its just apple are moving very slow with adding features to the os because they want it all the time to be perfect, google however are working very fast to add things to android but with a few hiccups, but still good job to google !
The Nexus One is already experiencing some issues. It seems to be having a problem locking on to one data frequency. A lot of T-mobile users [myself included] are reporting that this phone won’t stay connected to 3G when available. It bounces between 3G and Edge or in worst case scenarios, between Edge and GPRS [usually favoring the slower connection]. T-mobile won’t do anything because they don’t subsidize this phone officially and no word from Google/HTC yet.
Theres nothing wrong with andriod 2.1.
For an additional memory chipz(chheap) you must pay a hundred more. But the OS is most definitely worth it!
It’s just so simple, google will win eventually with their world domination plan. You will use it one way or another! One day they might even offer a way to replace the iphone OS with Android!
by the time apple drops a new phone, guess what? NEXUS TWO will be out. lemmie guess what apple will add in the new iphone, multitasking. yup, iphone users have a lot to look forward to.
and to the idiot who made this video. have you ever used android 2.1? dont think so, all around, the android os is way better than the iphone. pick a fucking android phone and get to know it. youll find out for youeself.
ahh right, thanks for the update ! ill add an annotation !
Note, its 20,000 android apps now.
by other things you mean the CMOS sensor, image processors, etc… A retail camera, even a lower cost one like the one you have, is better than the ones in any phone. Especially a thin one like the Nexus and iPhone. In low light the real flash over the led flash for sure will result in better pictures.
forget about apples customer base.lol. i feel sorry for windows, because android isnt really competing with apple as much, compared to windows. allmost EVERY windows mobile user is going android. and tbh android if it gets all those users as well as nokia users, its already beaten the iphone in terms of user base, lol
apple has 100,000 + but how much of it is quality apps that have any relevance to the majority of us smartphone users ? not that many. agreed android has a very small market for its app store but it can grow and take a big chunk out of apples iphone sales if it is able to produce those quality apps for viewing docs, some nice games, basic apps for fun etc. if android can do that then it can get on an even playing field.
