I just got my T-Mobile G1 Android Google Phone. Here I open the box, put the battery in, and try it out for the first time.

Why is the keypad white/gray? Is this the “bronze” G1 or whatever it is?

it’s alright. You can install an app that gives extra features to it
if u really want it than go for it “thats what i did”.. man 400 bucks aint bad and if u dislike it give the phone back and get ur money back

you just have to wait, thats what happedned to me, i wanted the new iphone but i have to wait until february 09, but while i have been waiting new phones have come out, and now im thinking abouyt getting the samsung eternity which is rated better than the iphone

Maybe try turning off the GPS feature when not using it to save the battery?
I love my G1! had mine for about four days already and I have to say it’s great. Only problem for me would have to be that it is not the prettiest gadget around…and also the battery life. I go to school so I have it on standby for a long period time and only use the phone for about 8 hours a day- and the battery always has to be charged by the fifth or sixth hour of use…great phone but save up money to get a spare battery…PS- texting is great and this isn’t a good choice for music lovers..
The specs for the phone says up to 5 hours of talk time and up to 5 DAYS of standby time. However standby time means no data and no GPS usage which do use up the battery faster. I put mine on to charge each night and then use it all day without issues.
Right now it’s only $179.99 when you sign up for service with t-mobile. That’s a great deal considering all you get – touchscreen PC with 3G speed + GPS + excellent quality phone.
