was it acting like that when u bought it? if so u should have sent it back to google. other than that if u didn’t drop ur phone or installed an app not from the android market u shouldn’t be having that problem unless of course u rooted ur phone
I know it runs multiple apps and with a 1GHz processor you would think it’s fast…which it is but you need to get some type of task killer if you use any android device
Have you noticed the pink hue with the nexus one photos and video!!
I really hope they change/fix any and all issues they are having with this phone when they release it on vzw. I really wana dump my storm but i dont want to have another “great” phone that ends up it was rushed out and full of bugs.
when iphone came out there was so many bugs… same goes for nexus… they going to make a update any time about this im sure. (:
My Nexus One just started doing this after two weeks of perfectly normal operation. I’m in the middle of rebooting to see if that helps.
LOL, if this makes you happy… clap clap clap!
Basically once you have had a blackberry storm…as I have….you realize that every other phone on earth is an upgrade… So i would totally take this nexus one….actually you could drop it off a cliff and I would still take it over my P.O.S. Blackberry storm
@joshywood Lol, you had me cracking up when I saw this. So true though.
Know what else is an epic fail? Using the phrase EPIC FAIL.
There’s obviously something wrong with his phone because my nexus one keyboard works perfectly.
LOL, after claiming to be the ultimate “iphone-killer” this is an EPIC FAIL!
Is it weird that I want to comb your hair and feed you pea soup while listening to Bing Crosby’s Christmas album?
Debugging and troubleshooting reasons obviously. It could very well be a hardware problem and if so, Google doesn’t have a clue how to fix it and neither does HTC yet.
If it does turn out to be a hardware issue which can’t be fixed with an OTA update, we’re talking major recall time. Very bad testing on Google and HTC’s part here.
Yeah, I guess troubleshooting and debugging reasons aren’t part of your vocabulary. That’s how you PURPOSEDLY start to make it crash.
In short, if your phone does what I described above, good luck, Google doesn’t know how to fix it and it looks like it’s a hardware issue rather than software. Even the Google tech guy from the official help forums had to admit his own phone, which he thought was flawless, did the exact same thing as described above.
Why would anybody even do that, how is that even practical? You can find software glitches on any phone, even iPhone (just Google iPhone glitches).
have you tried the app Better Keyboard? ? ? ?
Here’s how to test the piece of shit Nexus One. This test just made a Google CS guy go from “No my phone works fine” to “Ooops….”
1. set up 4 alarms
2. start tapping on the toggle switch (on/off) of the top alarm
3. keep tapping very quickly for a bit
4 watch the toggle switch of the bottom alarm light up with orange highlight
Congrats on your new phone!
It’s a whole boatload of the Nexus Ones doing this. Same thing with the 4 lower buttons on the phone, they don’t work right either for most people. Then there’s the laggy UI as shown in other videos.
You can look for help on the official Google forums about the junk this phone is.
This isn’t happening to every Nexus One out there, must be a few faulty ones circulating, which is common with any product. My best friend’s iPhone audio jack is failing, just the case with most technology. HTC covers the phone with a warranty and you also have 14 days to return it to Google from date of purchase.
@tattoos01 Good question. It’s an intermittent problem, and struck right as I woke up (thus the crappy video). Phone’s not rooted. I’ve seen in happen in different apps, though.
How were you able to get it to not work properly so you could record it?
What app did you have running in the background that is likely to be the main suspect. (Or do you know what app causes it?)
Has that phone been rooted? or is it stock?
I have the same issue with the entire screen. I have to restart to correct the problem.
I’ve noticed the issue isn’t just with the keyboard, I’ve had problems clicking and moving icons and widgets around the homescreen, difficulty entering my unlock code, and problems entering phone numbers (Pushing “1″ and having “*” light up). I’m really hoping Google fixes the keyboard issues soon.
Had a similar problem with the Motorola Cliq, Motorola issued an OTA update and fixed it, this is likely an issue that will be repaired with a future update as well, I’m thinking Google may have rushed the phone out too quickly, a month from Beta to market is just not enough time.
