How to Get MyTether 2.0.4 For Palm Pre, FREE!!! (Not for webOS 1.4)

The link in the video now costs so download MyTether 2.0.4 (full version) here- www.megaupload.com MyTether 2.1.0 (New version) see this video- www.youtube.com Once you get it downloaded, either extract the files to your desktop or open the .zip and drag the MyTether Installer to your desktop. Now, put your Palm Pre into DevMode by typing this at your homescreen, “webos20090606″ (without the ” “) let it restart, and plug into your computer. Open the installer and click “Install/Upgrade” and then reboot your Pre. The MyTether icon should now be in your launcher. If you can’t find the icon, try installing again and either rebooting or rescanning using Luna Manager. If you don’t know what Luna Manager is then just reboot. @PalmPreExpert what type of desktop recorder is this? Ive seen a couple vids using this one and ever since ive been wondering what it is.
@douglasazo well I think you have to have the webOS SDK installed for the installer to work. I had this problem today. And make sure your Pre is in DevMode. I haven’t looked into FreeTether yet so I don’t have ay advice about it but you shouldn’t have to have it for MyTether to work properly.
@PalmPreExpert I know this might be jumping the gun but I tried to download and install 2.1 and I can’t get the installer to run on my computer. not sure what im doing wrong. I have seen people say that they have freetether, i am not sure if i need to do that as well but until i can even get it to install on my xp laptop, im not gonna worry about more programs. any suggestions? thanks in advance.
@douglasazo MyTether 2.0.4 is not compatible with webOS 1.4 but I am currently getting the new version with the new installer because with the 2.1.0 installer I used I couldn’t get the icon to show up in my launcher.
I am running webos 1.4 – i am unclear, does this work for the most current version?

@sbsmalldice I’ve got the new version but I’m having trouble with it. When I install it I don’t get an icon. I will post a link or make a video in the coming days to let other people try it out.

@gabit2000 I have the updated MyTether (2.1.0) but I don’t have access to wifi right now because the place I’m staying for spring break charges people to use their wifi and internets… I’ll try to post when I get back on either monday or tues.
i heard somewhere to get my tether to work with 1.4 you have to go to a private donors post. is there a way you can download the updated version of my tether for free like this one? thank you.
What version of webOS are you running?
When I install it, I check the version and is says “v1.5.1″ and yes I’ve tried the “Uninstall” Button first.
…It was that easy? I spent 2 days trying to do this with the command prompt and stuff…. and now it takes 5 seconds?

MyTether worked great for me on 1.3.5 but not on 1.4
hey palmpreexpert i saw other video where did say the tether doesn’t work with webos1.3.5 is this tru or they have this fix???

I can assure you that you did not ruin your phone. So if you have turned the patch off and completely rebooted your phone, and it still doesn’t work, if you have Preware you can download the “Emergency Patch Remover” (i think it’s called something else. Just search for “Emergency” and you’ll find it). If that STILL does not work, doctor your Pre. Backup all data first, everything in your USB will be fine because WebOSDoctor doesn’t erase that stuff. Long answer, LOL. Good Luck!!!
