Anyone knows anything about the launch of this in UK?
Jailbroken iPhones are slower than stock iPhones because they have lots of extra extensions that vanilla iPhone OS doesn’t have… Jailbreaking made my phone slower, and it’s still way faster than the palm pre.
@AdamKaoru maybe because yours was jailbroken because a regular iphone is not that much faster than the pre
There must be something wrong with your iPhone >_> my sister has a Palm Pre, and my iPhone 3GS is jailbroken and it’s still incredibly faster than her Pre.
@AdamKaoru the 3gs is not much faster than the palm pre…i currently have both phones and my 3gs is like a half a second faster than the pre

I have an iPhone 3GS and my sister has a Palm Pre. “Better” is subject to opinion. However I know for a fact that the iPhone 3GS is MUCH faster than the Palm Pre, even jailbroken and multitasking.
you are very confused. you obviously know nothing about the pre. i have botth the iphone and the pre and the pre is a much better phone. the iphone is still amazing, but the pre is that much better.

Ahh it really bugs me that this is not gonna get over too the UK for ages, desperate to change my phone, was gonna go for the normal pre but when u see this with the added extras you don’t want the old model lol
and once again its going on 8 months not 3 years so yeah………..
My sister has a Palm Pre and compared to my 3GS it is just too slow to be useable. I thought the Pre Plus would fix this but it’s still really slow to open apps. :/ The Pre is the only other phone I’d consider other than my iPhone but it’s half-baked compared to iPhone OS.
And, no the Pre has not had 2 major updates. It’s still on 1.x .. I’m not holding anything against it I’m just stating fact. The two are not very comparable.
i had a 3g it was cool but at&t sucked. now i have a pre. which is way more intuitive and more fun to use as for the updates theres been 2 major updates on pre which you clearly dont own and once again its going on 8 months not 3 years so yeah i guess you cant compare. Palm is just more in tune with their customers than apple.
you clearly dont own an iPhone. Over the past couple years Apple has pushed out at least 25 updates with bug fixes, new features, and refinements not including the major 2.0 and 3.0 updates. Palm hasn’t released a major update yet so it’s not really comparable.
palm is old but disappeared for a while & is making a comeback much like what apple did in the mid 90′s but now it is a small company due to layoffs. about 5 times smaller than apple. & all of apple firmware updates go with there new hardware. 3 phones in 3 yrs.they better come wit an update. palm is still on their 1st webOS device thats not even a year old. i get what ur sayin bout da new apple firmware but it doesnt excuse them 4 the last 3 yrs where da tablet wasnt even close to completion.
Also Palm is really not quicker with updates. Apple has been holding off updates because the new version of the firmware has too many tablet features and hints in the code and they don’t want to let the cat out of the bag. But every other year Apple released tons of updates and added plenty of new features in between firmware versions.
You think Palm is a small company? Clearly they have this “poor us” mantra working well for them then. They are a HUGE company, they have been around in the handset market for decades.
true. but so could the iphone. its not like video rec. was new when the iphone came out nor was flash led’s besides, the iphone was in production at least 3 yrs while the pre was only in production for 1. still my point is palm is way faster with updates than apple.and i dont have to buy a new pre to do 1 more thing like video i guess next year it will be the same only with a flash LED. plus Apple is a big corporation while Palm is a small company, hey just give credit where credit is due.
Um actually iPhone hasn’t copied anything from the Palm Pre. Some jailbreak developers copied the Palm Pre’s card UI, but Apple itself didn’t do that.
