the screen is definitly one of the top features of the iphone. its huge and perfect for a touch device. i wish palm would have give the pre a larger display. its way too small for its webOS i think
The iphone 3g is actually not bad. Its just that AT&T has a shitty data network. I personally use T-mobile which has a better data network than AT&T because the 3g on is not much faster than T-Mobile’s Edge network and T-Mobile’s 3g is beats AT&T’s Network in speed hands down but T-Mobile 3g is not available everywhere and as far as rural areas that only pick up edge like me I say T-Mobile has better data. Yes i have an AT&T and a T-Mobile phone so I only state the facts.
Iphone 3gs is slower than the pre..look up palm pre vs iphone 3gs speed test. BTW palm pre has a linex processor so it is basically like a pc
ok so yall are sayin tht the 3g s wont be faster because of their slow 3g network? its faster than sprint my cousins instinct is way slower than my eternity!!! and plus the iphone 3g s will whoop the shit out of this phone it will be as fast as a computer!!!!!! thats y s stands for speeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck palm pre.

Ah yes, that was a 3G test. I have seen many browser comparisons, about 6, and this was the only one where iPhone one. Look at the WiFi testing that I commented about before.
Its funny because if you look up “browser wars” in youtube and along comes a video that shows the iphone start a couple of seconds later thank the pre and storm yet it still beats them them bolth. How could this have happened. so like i said same test different results thats why its a dumb test
Even if it was 4 bars for iPhone versus 5 bars for Pre, or vise versa, they both had very strong signal strength! You really think there is a difference in download speeds at 4 bars versus 5 bars?! And like I said they both had 5 bars!! You think it’s not a good test, because you don’t like the result.
Its a dumb test because because -50db all the way to -113db will still show 5 bars. Just because you see five bars on bolth phones dose not make it a perfect test.

So now the excuse come. In the demo, you can clearly see that both phones have full signal strength. The user wouldn’t have done the demo if one device had a noticeable stronger signal, it would be an obvious unfair advantage. Just face it Sprint’s EVDo Rev A is faster than Att’s 3G.
lol thats funny shit! your the first person to fire back. good for u… five bars or 1 bar this guy might have a sprint tower a block away from his house. Many things influence network speed. Im sure in many cases the iphone would be faster and visa versa. I could do the same test and im sure it wouldent be the same everywhere all the time. I just think this test is about the dumbest thing i have ever see. This is why i commented in the first place

Isn’t the iPhone 3G one year old? Plus a faster device, like the 3Gs, is not going to change AT&T’s 3G speed! Nobody is gloating. It’s just a fact that you must deal with, Sprint’s net work is faster! Even on wifi, the Pre loads pages faster than on iPhone. Yes, go enjoy your apps, one app at a time. I hope you don’t get a text message while you are enjoying your app of choice, because you will have to quit the app to answer the text message!
Not for nothing but this is a comparison to a two year old device and the iphone almost keeps up. That dose not surprise me!!! wait a week for iphone 3.0 and then do this test. Not to mention 3g s. Which is the same price as the pre without a “mail in rebate”. Not to mention double the drive space. 3g s will destroy palm in speed. Enjoy your right to gloat for a week. For now i will wait the extra ten seconds for my iphone to load. Well time to go i think i will enjoy some of my aps
Actually only Verizon will be getting it in 6 Months, AT&T will get it sometime next year because they’re to work out the deal to keep Iphone exclusive past 2010.
Yes the palm pre is faster, the iphone didn’t finish downloading all the data until 10 sec after the pre, and it doesn’t surprise me, what does surprise me, is how much att the palm pre is getting from iphone fanboys. it sounds like they really hate the pre, but I won’t. AT&T and verizon will both carry the pre in 6 moths!
